Proposed International Airport arriving by 2019
The much-awaited Navi Mumbai International Airport will soon commence its construction and as stated by our honorable Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, one terminal building and a runway of the airport is aimed to be completed by the end of 2019.
Proposed Trans-Habour Link coming in 2021
Travelling from South Mumbai to Navi Mumbai and vice versa will become more convenient with the forthcoming Trans-Harbour Link. The link will be like the existing Bandra-Worli sea link and will be built by the year 2021. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and South Korea’s Daewoo will build the link.
Doubling the capacity of JNPT by 2022
JNPT, India’s largest container port will be on par with European ports by the year 2022. Doubling the capacity of the port will lead to handling 10 million TEUs annually. This will put JNPT on par with big ports like Antwerp in Belgium, Hamburg of Germany and Los Angeles of the USA. This will only usher in development in and around the area.
Proposed Virar-Alibaugh multi-modal corridor
The Maharashtra government’s ambitious Virar - Alibaugh multi-modal corridor will take off soon, as the tender for the project will be issued by the month of June. This corridor is built with a mission to bisect the time between Virar and Alibaugh and for the same it has been divided into two phases. Travelling time will be greatly reduced once this corridor is functional.
With these upcoming infrastructure bodies, Panvel is poised for growth - both infrastructure and economy wise. Also, the other aspects of the city are progressing rapidly and to add to the progress, The Wadhwa Group is coming soon to Panvel with a sprawling mega township. With all these together, the city can be rightly titled as ‘Advantage Panvel.’
